Hon’ble Prime Minister Hands over the Winners’ Laurels for the Inaugural Edition of “UNESCO-Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Prize for the Creative Economy"

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has handed over the "UNESCO-Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Prize for the Creative Economy" to MoTIV, a Uganda-based integrated creative studio. Noel Collin Kaijabwango, business and operations lead of MoTIV, received the prize and certificate on behalf of the team.  PM's younger sister Sheikh Rehana was present beside her along with Audrey Azoulay, UNESCO director-general while she handed over the prize. 

MoTIV was selected among 69 nominations submitted for the creative economy prize and will receive $50,000 in recognition of its innovative work to promote youth entrepreneurship in the creative economy. Located in Kampala, Uganda, MoTIV is an integrated creative studio that fosters collaboration in an impactful and sustainable way through providing tools and training. It works across different domains such as product and fashion design, helping entrepreneurs to refine and scale up their businesses.

This prize was launched in order to innovative entrepreneurship especially patronizing the contributions from the youth of the world.

 

Hon’ble Prime Minister in her message thanked UNESCO called this auspicious occasion as ‘a moment of happiness’ for Bangladesh as UNESCO has established a grand prize named “UNESCO-Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Prize for the Creative Economy” in remembrance of the extraordinary contributions of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for the world and for humanity upholding the spirit of creativity. She also thanked Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Bangladesh National Commission for UNESCO for their role in the process of the establishment of this Prize.
